 📢 Environment Audit Rules, 2025 – A New Era of Environmental Governance

On August 29, 2025, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) introduced the Environment Audit Rules, 2025—a transformative step toward strengthening India’s environmental compliance framework.

 These rules establish a system of self-regulation and independent auditing, empowering accredited private environment auditors to supplement the oversight of State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs).

✅ Creation of a new class of Accredited Environment Auditors

📋 Mandatory audits of emissions, effluents, waste, and pollution control systems
